Georgia has a significant number of military bases and installations, among which, Fort Gordon, Fort Benning, Fort Gillem, Fort Stewart as well as eight other military bases strategically placed throughout the state. Also, other Army Bases such as King’s Bay Submarine Base and NAS Atlanta Navy Bases, Robin’s and Moody Air Force bases, Georgia Marine Corps Base, etc.
The Georgian Armed Forces (GAF) is the unified name given to the Georgia Armed Forces, which includes Georgian Land Forces, Georgian Air Forces, and the Georgian National Guard etc. The GAF is extensively reformed in recent years, to join NATO, which in result the NATO officially announced its support to Georgia, in expanding the military forces in the country and developing the overall quality of the GAF.
MILITARY AND SECURITY
The Georgian Military is divided into ‘land’ and ‘air’ forces. Land Forces include Air Force and the Air Defense Forces. Together they are called as Georgian Armed Forces (GAF). The duties and the guidance are based on the Constitution of Georgia and the Ministry of Defense.

The Georgian Naval Forces are incorporated into the Coast Guard, which is a part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs rather than the Ministry of Defense. The military expense of Georgia is 670 million in 2016. The larger amount in the military budget is used for maintaining armored forces and its potency development.

The climate in Georgia is extremely diverse as the eastern part has moderate while the south has dry and hot air masses. The eastern part has a transitional climate from humid to continental, and the western parts are considerably colder than in low-lying areas.
